Xi Awaits Meeting Trump in South Korea
According to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun, the two leaders will “have an in-depth communication regarding major issues of strategic and long-term significant, as well as issues of mutual interest.”
“China stands ready to work with the US,” Guo stated during a press briefing in Beijing. He added that the nation hopes for “positive outcomes of this meeting" and intends to inject "new momentum into the development of China-US relations.”
Guo also noted that additional details about the upcoming meeting will be shared at an appropriate time.
Last week, the White House announced that the two leaders are scheduled to meet on October 30 in South Korea, coinciding with the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit, according to a news agency.
