Nvidia Chief Praises South Korea’s Vision for New AI Innovation Hub

(MENAFN) Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has voiced strong support for Hyundai Motor Group’s ambitious plan to establish a large-scale artificial intelligence center in South Korea, likening the concept to the success of California’s Silicon Valley.

Speaking at an event connected to the initiative on Monday, Huang described the proposed development as an "AI Valley" and expressed enthusiasm about its potential, saying he would be "very happy to build Nvidia in Saemangeum."

The project, estimated to cost around 9 trillion won ($6.6 billion), seeks to transform the Saemangeum coastal region into a major hub for AI-driven innovation. Plans include the construction of advanced data centers, high-performance computing infrastructure, robotics facilities and clean-energy systems.

According to reports, Huang highlighted South Korea’s technological expertise, manufacturing capabilities and culture of innovation, arguing that these strengths could help make the project a key pillar of the country's artificial intelligence strategy.

The development is expected to feature AI data centers utilizing Nvidia technology and aims to attract startups, technology companies and research institutions. Supporters of the initiative say it has the potential to generate thousands of jobs while enhancing South Korea’s competitiveness in the rapidly expanding global AI sector.
